By the numbers:
In 2021, the population in the state of Florida was 21.78 million people. In 2022 it is estimated that there are 25,810 men, women, and children homeless in Florida. That is less than 1%. That doesn’t sound too bad, until you realize that there are 25,810 individuals that don’t have a place to sleep. They may not have a meal today. They don’t have a place to shower. And they might live in a tent or a box.
Why Us?
We are a 501(c)3 organization which is a not-for-profit company. We have chosen this organizational structure because we have taken it upon ourselves to be the advocates for both sides of this very challenging problem. Those that are in need and those that want to help.
We understand that there will always be the poor among us. But we also understand that they don’t have to suffer. We have talked with them, and know where they are. We know what their basic needs are, and we have told them that we are going to try to help.
On the other side, we also know that there are many of you that are reading this today that want to help but don’t know where to start. For you, we have put programs in place that take your donations and put them to work to ease their suffering. All donated items go straight to work. Short of the very small percent that is taken from your monitory donation, all of your donation goes straight into helping these people.
We are grateful for a caring community that generously provides resources for people who have little or none. Donated food, hygiene, and other items help support the ever-growing population during this difficult time.
How is works
By using technology, we have created critical items lists through Amazon. These allow you to purchase some of our most needed things. When we receive them, we inventory them into our warehouse area. Then they are combined with other essential items. Then through our amazing volunteers, we hand deliver these directly to the individuals that need them most. Nothing goes to waste and everything makes a difference.
We encourage you to visit our lists and make a purchase which will be combined with other purchases and distributed. You will see that these are mostly bulk purchase items which allows us to reach a greater group of people.
Snack/Meal Bag Wish List
This list will be specifically for creating individual snack/meal bags for individuals. Each bag will contain at least 2 meals and a snack. Again, we are not trying to solve the hunger problem but ease suffering.
Hygiene Bag Wish List
This list will be specifically for creating hygiene bags for individuals. Each of these bags will contain enough hygiene supplies to support an individual for several days. This will make a significant impact allowing many to keep their human dignity.
