Luke 8:39 – and Jesus said: “Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” So the man went away and told all over town how much Jesus had done for him.
Many underestimate how important and powerful their journey is to becoming a Christian. Also known as a conversion story, a Christian testimony can be the compelling stories about how things were before they found Christ which usually includes doubt, troubles, and challenges; the things and events that happened to lead them to Christ as well as who might have helped; and the reason they found Christ and became a Christian. Usually there is a “God showed up” moment in a person’s life and might include a lesson from God.
Testimonies comes in all shapes and sizes and is very personal to each Christian. Some have big bang moments and others have a slow moving story to tell. As most Christians know, God is very patient.
Your personal testimony is very compelling and is one of the most powerful tools you have to show your love of Jesus and how he has intervened in your life.
Usually it is best if you write your testimony down. However, when you tell it, you don’t have to say it word for word.
