Psalms 28:6-7 NIV
“Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy. the Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.“
When we go through troubled times, we cry out to God and plead for his direction, comfort and mercy. Our faith is what carries us through until God answers our cry. Every bit of strength to handle hard times comes from our faith in God. The more we pray, the more we dive deep into His word, and the more we trust in Gods goodness, the stronger we get and the better we are able to see His will for our life. God answers in many different ways. It is important to understand that regardless the outcome of a situation, God has answered your prayers in his timing and in his good and gracious will.
Have you ever been in a relationship that you prayed would never end because you were so passionate about that person? When that relationship ended, did you feel like your life was over? Years later you look back and realize God really did have your best interest at heart. He really did protect you from a much different life than you are currently leading.
Our hopes, desires and outlook on what life should be can be so different than what God has planned for us and for many of us. It may take years to realize that. Sometimes things happen in our life just to open our eyes and realize we have turned away from God. Of course, not in our minds in the moment but, when we start searching and looking for the answer to what happened, we realize our focus has been on worldly structures and not Godly. We realize our focus has been set aside from God almost as if they are two separate things, our God view and our passion view. Open your eyes and realize our passion and our focus should be God first. If we follow and trust in God, everything will fall into place.
When we lean on God through good storms and bad storms our strength gets stronger, our faith gets stronger, and our outlook becomes clear.
Psalms 30:4-7 NIV
“Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night but rejoicing comes in the morning. When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken,” Lord, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed.”
When we are in the Word and we are in with the Lord, we are built so strong and we know that even though we weep today it is not to harm us but to build us even stronger. We know that God is there even in the storms. He makes us unshakeable in the most broken situations. We get filled with worry and nerves because of the unknown things we cannot control but if we focus our attention to Him and His word. He carries us through.
As we focus on the word of God through Jesus, our nerves and worry diminish because through Him he makes us stronger. He carries the burden. Every situation we go into we have to go in knowing that whatever happens is God’s will for our life we need to point that situation to God and glorify him in the storms. God protects us. Trust in Him and praise him in every situation! Do not become dismayed. Be in His presence always and forever.
