John 16:13 β βBut when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.β
The Holy Spirit is at the heart of the event called Pentecost. Pentecost is remembered as the time that the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles in Jerusalem. We hear about the Holy Spirit as part of the trinity but what exactly is it. The event occurs in the Book of Acts, chapter 2.
If ever there is a time that you know to do something is wrong but you are conflicted about doing it, the questioning causing this conflict is called conviction. Your conviction comes from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is with you always and is your God-given Guide to speak louder than any other voice on everyday choices. It would be very hard to truly understand Godβs word and desires without your interaction with the Holy Spirit.
Many people who have the Holy Spirit are in constant conflict or are conflicted about decision and direction because they donβt stop and listen to the directives of the Spirit in our lives. God sent the Holy Spirit to be with you, guiding your decisions based on the truth.
Remember, the Holy Spirit is your guide and can be fully heard, felt, and seen in people doing Godβs work.
Interesting fact: Many people donβt know, but the room that the Last Supper with Jesus and the Apostles, is actually the same room that Pentecost occurred in after Jesus was crucified and resurrected. Can you imagine what it would have been like to be in the room when the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles? The room is in Jerusalem today and you can visit it. It is actually over the tomb of King David.
