Proverbs 3:5 NIV
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;”
Many of us have trust issues. Whether it be that someone has hurt us in a bad relationship, someone has taken something from us, or we have been lied to, leaving us feeling betrayed, abandoned, or manipulated. This causes us to doubt if we can ever trust anyone again. Of course we keep trying because we think that we understand what happened and this time it will be different, only to be let down again and again.
Jesus has told us in the scripture that we should love one another. Much of trust is built on faith. If your faith is of worldly things, so will your trust be. If your faith is of Heavenly things, so should your trust be. Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law of people, but by faith in Jesus Christ.
This message teaches us that if you place your trust in Jesus first, by asking for his spiritual guidance, and truly listening for the answer even if it is not what you want to believe, trust in worldly things becomes much easier. Donβt just change your direction in faith, be true to yourself when you get the answer you seek. He is Lord of all and can be trusted with everything, no matter how small it is.
