Daily Devotion – Peace of Mind 🎤

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.”

You might be a Christian, you look healthy, your Marriage is doing well, everything is great… but inside, pure panic… Life is just too much, you can’t keep up, and often times you feel like you can’t go on… You might even feel like the only relief is just to die. This is, often times, way too real!

You know you are a strong person but you feel like you need help but you are ashamed, embarrassed… it just isn’t right… you are a Christian.

Sadly, some of you can relate. You look pretty good on the outward side but in inside is a wreck. Your depressed, anxious, stressed, worn down… Just know, you are not alone.

Mental health is only gotten from Peace of Mind. However, one of the most dangerous myths of mental health is that you can just pray and everything will be better. It is often believed that the Church should not talk about mental health issues. Come to Jesus and he will fix everything… Jesus has the power to save you, redeem you, fill you with Holy God power! These are all very good things and true but they are a bit incomplete when we talk about mental health. Just because Jesus saved you, doesn’t mean that He fixes every area in your life. Remember, it is because of God’s will that things happen, not yours.

Just because you are a Christian doesn’t mean “Instant Mental Health.”

So, how can you fight against mental health?

Remember, God is not afraid of our honesty and He cares if you are hurting because when you hurt, He hurts. Love God and serve God! Not mental health! There are many things that can impact mental health.

If you are struggling, that doesn’t mean you are not a good Christian. It just means you are human. Getting help isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of wisdom.

Lean into God and Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.

Isaiah 26:3“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
